Four Greyhound coaches recognized as top assistants

Parker Resources, which provides resources for coaches and athletic directors, has released its statewide coaches of the year honors for the 2023, and four of those recognized include Greyhound football assistant coaches.

When big plays have happened for the Greyhounds the past four years, especially the previous two, the speed of either Zion Ragins or Tyler Stewart has usually been a part of it. Of Jones County’s 36 passing touchdowns this past season, 28 came from either Ragins or Stewart.

Youth Track & Field registration now open

Online registration is now open for the 2024 Jones County Youth Track & Field season, open to boys and girls ages 7-14, with in-person registration on Jan. 6 and Jan. 20 at the W.E Knox Civic Center. Registration is $120 per child and $100 per additional sibling living in the same household.

Each time that Jones County’s girls go against Eagles Landing on the hardwood, it’s usually a tense back-and-forth seesaw. Both teams usually find themselves contending for the postseason, so there’s usually plenty of parity, magnifying the smallest moments of each matchup.
