Tennis teams finish strong, await region tourney

The region tournament awaits the Jones County tennis teams following spring break, a span of matches that will determine state tournament spots and possible home court in the first round.

Ragins soars to win 100 and 200 meters at Eagles Landing

The field was more competitive and deeper for Jones County’s track teams at Friday’s Golden Eagles Invitational. But with a bigger stage, Zion Ragins was up to the task, leading the Greyhounds individually as he won in both the 100and 200-meter events.

Gym Hounds finish second in Newnan

The Gym Hounds placed second as a team against top-level gymnasts on Friday at Newnan, including Newnan, East Coweta and Cambridge. Autumn Clark was fifth in the vault with Chloe Clark being fifth on the bars and sixth all-around. In the floor routine, Cayl Milner placed fifth.

Harris, Sanford named All-State Senior guards Daethan Harris and Jaylen Sanford were a big reason for the Greyhounds run to the GHSA Class AAAAA semifinals. That play was recently recognized with both being GBAC/GACA All-State Selections.

Three coaches join football staff

The Greyhounds are scheduled to begin spring practice April 19, and three additions to the coaching staff, two on the offensive side of the ball, have been announced.

Lady Hounds take down Warner Robins

The Lady Greyhounds may not be bound for the postseason, but they’re still determined to finish out the season strong. That desire was put into proof last Friday at Warner Robins, where a 3-2 win snapped a six-game losing streak.
