Greyhounds continue push toward season’s first pitch

The drive toward the start of the baseball season continues for the Greyhounds and their roster of 20-plus players. Last week’s on-field workouts included time in the batting cage both on the field and in the indoor hitting cage located down the left-side line of Cecil Patterson Field.

Hounds fall to powerful Jefferson in state prelims

Sometimes, the key to a deep run through a postseason bracket is how kind, or cruel, bracket placement is to a team. The Greyhounds ended up on the foul side of that for Saturday’s state dual prelims, where after breezing past Jackson of Atlanta 78-6, the Greyhounds came up short to Jefferson 47-30.

Hounds, Lady Hounds get visit from Hall of Famer at Awards Banquet

Following a record-setting season that was arguably the best in program history, Jones County officially celebrated its cross country program’s banner season with its annual awards banquet last Thursday. And they welcomed an appropriately accoladed guest speaker to mark the occasion.
