Rested Hounds eagerly await return to region play

Since winning the Morris Bank Holiday Classic on Dec. 21, the Greyhounds have had ample time to bask on their tournament win and also rest up. The layoff ends Friday with the heat of region play having its collective wick turned up with the Dutchtown visiting the Greyhounds.

Duke’s 30-13 Military Bowl win last week against UCF was its fourth bowl win in a row, and it came partly due to the play of Jontavis Robertson, part of an offense that generated 350 total yards. Duke’s 9-4 record marks its most wins in a single season since 2014.

Lady Hounds win eighth in a row

Third in the region standings and one game out of second place, the Lady Greyhounds entered this week having won eight in a row.

Mat girls provide invaluable off-mat support to Greyhounds

You won’t see the names of the mat girls from Jones County High School’s wrestling program listed on any bracket result sheets, and odds are that medals of top finishers won’t be awarded to them, either. But their impact off the mat and behind the scenes has time and again proven invaluable.

Bulldogs prepare for Buckeyes The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs have taken the last three weeks to prepare for the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes for their matchup on New Year’s Eve. The two elite teams will meet in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the College Football Playoff semifinal Peach Bowl game.
