Lady Hounds enter dead week on high note

This week marks the second of the GHSA’s two dead weeks, a time of which no optional summer team activities are permitted. The dead period ends July 10, giving teams the green light to resume workouts across multiple sports after that.

12U All Stars finish third in district

Jones County’s 12U All Stars finished third in last week’s district tournament held at Dudley, completing a fight back through the loser’s bracket to win three games in a row before ultimately suffering their second loss in the double-elimination tournament to Warner Robins American, 8-3.

Every once in a while you find something you just need to share. Back in the winter my son, Beau, and I went to a fishing show hosted by Jimbo on Lanier in Cumming, GA. Truly an awesome event that we really enjoyed. Of course, any day spent with friends is just great.

JCYFL sign ups underway

Sign-ups are now underway for Jones County Youth Football through Aug. 1. Mandatory uniform fitting, which will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Morris Bank Football Board Room, is scheduled for July 26, July 28, July 30, Aug. 2, Aug. 4 and Aug. 6.
