Jones County brought back multiple finishes near the top of the leaderboard at Saturday’s state cross country championships in Bleckley County, including Gray Station’s girls finishing fourth in their division in addition to taking first in the girls JV race.

The Jones County Pickleball Club will host its third annual Glow Ball Tournament Nov. 8-9 at the Morris Bank Recreation Complex.Registration is $50 per person or $40 for Jones County Pickleball members with play scheduled each night from 6 pm to 8 pm.

The Marching Greyhounds brought home high ratings at their first competition of the season Oct. 5 at the Coastal Empire Classic in Effingham County. Jones County earned straight superior ratings for a final score of 88.

Carson Beck and Arian Smith enjoyed career highs in Georgia’s 41-31 win over Mississippi State.Both played key roles on the offensive side of the ball for the No. 5 Bulldogs (5-1, 3-1 SEC).Beck helped Georgia’s offense thrive through the air by completing 36 of 48 passes for a career-high 459 yards.
