TUSCALOOSA – Georgia’s Carson Beck tossed an interception in the end zone with under a minute left in Saturday’s top 10 matchup against Alabama, signifying the Crimson Tide’s 41-34 win.The Bulldogs quarterback wasn’t sharp against Alabama, turning the ball over four times in the loss.

Georgia looks to rebound after losing to Alabama as it faces rival Auburn this week at home.The Bulldogs, who are now ranked No. 5 nationally, enter the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry with a 3-1 overall record and 1-1 mark in the SEC. The Tigers are 2-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The purple and gold carpet of Jones County hospitality was rolled out Saturday morning off of Howard Roberts Road as cross country teams descended upon the Greyhounds’ and Lady Greyhounds’ home course for the Rancher’s Release The Hounds Invitational.

Lady Hounds edge Perry ahead of home stretch within region

Last Wednesday brought two regular postseason mainstays to the softball diamond in Jones County and Perry. After JCHS won a one-run game earlier in the season, the Lady Hounds did the same on the road, scoring three extra-inning runs and holding off a two-run rally by the Panthers to win 10-9.
