Warrant for shoplifting
Deputy Elrod was on Lite-NTie Road running radar when he observed a vehicle approaching him at approximately 58 mph in a 45-mph speed zone headed towards Gray Hwy. The vehicle increased its speed and showed to be traveling at 71 mph. Elrod then activated his blue lights and siren, caught up to the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The deputy made contact with the female driver and obtained her driver’s license. Elrod returned to his patrol car and ran the female subject’s driver’s license through the GCIC/ NCIC database, and it came back to show she had an active warrant out of Bibb County for shoplifting. Elrod returned to the female and had her exit her vehicle. At that time, the female subject was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Jones County LEC where she was issued a citation for speeding and then turned over to jail staff for holding until Bibb County could arrive to pick her up.

Something creepy
Deputy Allen was dispatched to Comer Road in reference to suspicious activity. Upon arrival on scene, Allen made contact with a female complainant that advised she had recently moved here with her family and a strange vehicle pulled into her driveway with an older male driving. The complainant told the deputy when she asked the man why he was there, he told her he was “looking for a little girl” then left the scene very quickly. A few days later, the same man in the same vehicle came back and stated the same thing, that he was “looking for a little girl.” The female complainant gave a description of the male and the vehicle to Deputy Allen. Allen advised that a patrol request will be entered and to call if the male showed back up at the residence.

Obstruction of law enforcement officer
Deputy Caldwell responded to a residence in reference to theft of a cellphone. Upon arrival, Caldwell met with the male complainant. The male advised the deputy that a female friend of his came to his house to get a cigarette and then took off with his cellphone without permission. The complainant advised he did not want to press charges if she returned his phone. The complainant gave Caldwell the address of the female and he went to her residence. When the deputy arrived, the female subject was sitting on her front porch, and he noticed a cellphone that fit the description by the complainant also on the porch playing music. The female told the deputy she went to the male’s house to borrow the phone so she could listen to music on her way to the store. Caldwell advised the female no charges would be issued if she turned the phone over to the rightful owner. The female gave the phone to the deputy at that time. Caldwell then obtained the female’s information and ran it through dispatch. Dispatch informed the deputy that the female had multiple warrants out of Ohio and violent tendencies to use extreme caution. Caldwell at that time tried to detain the female and she pulled away from him and went inside the residence.
The deputy advised the female she was only going to be detained and not placed under arrest at the moment, however she continued to resist then fell to the floor and refused to comply with the deputy’s commands.
Caldwell was finally able to get her hands secured however she was able to get up onto her couch, then fell onto a coffee table sustaining a minor laceration to the side of her face. Caldwell was finally able to handcuff the female and then informed her she was being placed under arrest for obstruction.
Caldwell notified dispatch to send EMS to treat the wound on the female. EMS assessed the female subject and cleared her. Caldwell transported to female to the Jones County LEC where she received a warrant for obstruction.
