Real Life

“the works of God should be made manifest in him” (Jn 9:3) The blind beggar was born blind by God’s design. It was all God’s doing for a work of God in his life; that on a specific day this beggar would cease to be blind and would leave his begging ways behind. The people on the street that specific day would see this work of God manifested in the beggar, and this work of God would cause them to ask questions about Jesus. It would point souls to Christ.

The physical healing was a great miracle, but the man’s spiritual healing was far greater.

Physical healings only last a while. Spiritual healings last forever.

Jesus gave the beggar more than just physical sight. He gave him spiritual sight to see his need for a savior. While the man could now see a world that he had been blind to, he now saw his sin which he also had been blind to. And he got saved (v38).

People are slow to see the sin in themselves.

Jesus comes to open our spirit eyes to that sin, showing us, we need to be saved from that sin, and that He alone is the Savior from all sin.

Until we give our lives to Jesus, until we are Born Again, we are all blind beggars sitting on the street curbs of a dark world.
