Woman pleads guilty, gets 10 years for disposal of uncle’s body

A Baldwin County woman was sentenced to 10 years to serve in prison following a guilty plea in Jones County Superior Court last week bringing to a close a case that began with the 2021 discovery of an unidentified dead body that appeared to have been discarded.

Child molester found guilty, gets three life sentences

David Clinton Smith was found guilty on all counts by a Jones County jury Oct. 30. He received three consecutive life sentences plus 50 years to serve for charges of aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and sexual exploitation of children.
