The summer reading program at the Jones County Library begins its second half with excitement for another month of fun and learning ahead.The theme of this year’s program is “Unearth A Story” about dinosaurs, and Branch Manger Julie King said the library has been turned into a dinosaur wonderland.

18-year-old pleads guilty to child molestation charges

An 18-year-old Jones County man recently received a 20-year sentence for charges including child molestation, obstruction and giving a false name to a law enforcement officer.Steven Allen Jones was in Superior Court June 25 to enter a negotiated plea to the charges.
