Shooting during disagreement leads to arrest

A Macon man is under arrest following a recent shooting that took place on Bone Creek Road. No serious injuries were reported. Jesus Antonio Oberle, 22, was arrested Nov. 20 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and the charge of terroristic threats and acts as a result the Nov.

Elam Baptist Church in Gray recently packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child to give items to children in need who live in orphanages overseas, so they can experience the joy of a Christmas gift.

Gray Methodist to host Live Nativity next weekend

The season is here, and Gray Methodist Church is ready with its Live Drive-Thru Nativity on track to remind the community of the true meaning of Christmas. The dates of the Nativity are Dec. 8-10 from 6-9 p.m. each evening, weather permitting.

Woman dies in Sand Creek Trail house fire

Last week’s fire at a residence on Sand Creek Trail took the life of the property owner with the cause of the blaze remaining undetermined. Jones County Fire Chief Don Graham reported the victim was identified as 64-year-old Brenda Jo Kelly.

Les Dames Magnifique paid tribute to recent retirees of the Jones County School System on Nov. 4, 2023. The celebration took place at Old Times at the Macon Mall. The two people honored were Mrs. Shirley Middlebrooks and Mr. Wilson Lattimore, however Mr. Lattimore was unable to attend the event.
