A discussion about truck parking took up the majority of time in the June meeting of Gray’s City Council.The June 1 meeting was called to order by Mayor Ed Barbee. The opening prayer was led by Councilman David Tufts, and Barbee led the pledge.

The Jones County Board of Tax Assessors had a called meeting May 28 to appoint a new board secretary and approve a request for additional funds from the county.Chairman Dr. Leigh Stanford called the May 28 meeting to order at 9 a.m., and the prayer and pledge were led by Board Member Joe Rutledge.

A suspect in an aggravated battery case is currently held without bond in the Jones County jail following an additional charge filed due to the condition of the victim in the case.Michael Adams Youngblood, 40, was arrested May 26 and charged with simple battery and aggravated battery.
