Man charged with aggravated assault against peace officer

A disregard for the safety of a law enforcement officer resulted in the arrest of a Macon man on felony charges. James David Miller, 40, was arrested Nov. 3 and is currently in custody of the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, facing the charge of aggravated assault against a peace officer.

BOE extends appreciation at holiday

Board of Education members were in a ‘thanks-giving’ mood at their November monthly meeting. Chairman Ginger Bailey called the Nov. 8 meeting to order, and her chairman’s report was a short greeting that included that the holidays are coming and wishing everyone a blessed Thanksgiving Day.
