Thomas L. Collum is the local veteran of the week. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1942 to October 1945. He was a tech sergeant and received jungle combat training in Panama; he was also assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 81st Infantry, Pacific Command Headquarters in the Philippines.
