Wastewater treatment plant construction on track

It seems challenges for a new wastewater treatment plant for the City of Gray just keep on coming with the latest being supply issues. Council members had a work session with the team building Gray’s new plant and listened to the progress being made as well as new challenges.

Flag retired at Dairy Queen

Boy Scout Troop 485 gathered Flag Day, June 14, to replace the worn flag at Dairy Queen in Gray with a new flag purchased by DQ. Members of American Legion post 142 attended the ceremony in support of the scouts. The worn flag will be respectfully retired by the troop. CONTRIBUTED

BOE to purchase 10 buses

The budget and school buses highlighted the June meeting of the Jones County Board of Education. The June 14 meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Dr. Nancy Nash in the absence of Chairman Ginger Bailey.
