CJ’s Cards and Collectibles brings unique touch

CJ’s Cards and Collectibles in downtown Milledgeville is open for business for those who enjoy collecting items for various fandoms. The shop is located at 136 South Wayne Street in Milledgeville, and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Gray Memorial Chapel honors veterans it serves

The owner of a local funeral home is commemorating Memorial Day by honoring the service of Jones County veterans and their families. Gray Memorial Chapel and Crematory owner Scott Walston said he had the idea in mind of purchasing pavers for veterans served by the funeral home for some time.

Bailey to serve fourth term as BOE chair

Jones County voters re-elected the current Board of Education chair by a resounding 53.66 percent, easily avoiding a runoff. Ginger Bailey will return for a fourth term as chair. She was elected for the first time in 2010, and this year was her first time being opposed since her election.

Summer reading

The Jones County Public Library started their summer reading program May 23 and plans on doing a lot of different activities with everyone who participates in the Oceans of Possibilities themed summer reading program.
