The Gray Police Department issued a press release Nov. 12 following the award of a grant from the Governor’s Office of Safety.The release states the GPD is pleased to announce it has received a $33,144 High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).

Freddie Ammons is the local veteran of the week. A 1966 graduate of Maggie Califf High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning and was stationed there from 1968 to 1969. He also served one tour of duty at Pielku, Vietnam from 1969 to July 13, 1970, in transportation.

The Pilot Cub’s October project was donations to Sonrise Ministry and Pantry. Members brought contributions to the Oct. 28 meeting, and items were delivered the following day. We were graciously received, and after everything was unloaded, we got to see the food pantry and the refrigerator.
