“Whoso eateth My flesh and drinketh My blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day“-Jn 6:54 Jesus tells us that we must eat His flesh and drink His blood or we can’t be saved. Of course He is speaking metaphorically; symbolism, not cannibalism--the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (v63). His words here are spiritual, not literal.
This eating and drinking is faith talk. To believe in Him, to have faith in Him, is to spiritually eat His flesh and drink His blood.
Jesus is the Christmas bread that came down from Heaven. Jesus is the Easter blood that flowed from the cross. To be saved you must eat that bread and drink that blood one time and one time only.
Some believe with Communion, the bread turns into His flesh and the wine/juice into His blood. Nonsense. Communion is symbolic, just as it was at the first communion in the upper room. It’s an act of remembrance on our part, not a reenactment of sacrifice on Jesus’ part.
Have you eaten His flesh? Have you drunk His blood? It’s the only meal that will take you to Heaven.
