The Greyhounds’ postseason quest ended last week by the thinnest of margins.
Jones County lost 47-46 to Woodland in the opening round of the region tournament on Friday, ending their season at 11-15 overall. That win-loss record is a four-victory improvement from a season ago, when JCHS won seven contests.
Jones County will graduate senior starters Sheldon Jackson, Justin Ray, and Rudy Bowden in the offseason but also will be set to return an eager group of players that grew as players during the course of the season. That collection of players includes Jaiden Bond, KJ Gray, and Thomas Gosier.
A new region alignment will await Jones County next year, going from a total of 10 teams to seven. Three teams that finished ahead of the Greyhounds in the regular-season standings with new adds to the region being Warner Robins, which finished second in its region as well as Perry.
