Second annual Fields of Faith
The Jones County Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host their 2nd annual Fields of Faith Nov. 9 at Greyhound Field (JCHS football field). Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the night of worship begins at 6:30 p.m.
This is a free public event.
Veterans Day Closing
The Jones County News will be closed Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
Friends of the Library Book Sale
Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Jones County Library, 273 Railroad Street in Gray. Building next to the JCHS track. 1000’s of books of all types! Incredible prices! Many books are FREE! Children’s books 5 for $1. Feature of the month - COOKING. (4 for $1) and crafts. Sponsored by Jones County Friends of the Library.
America Recycles Day
Keep Jones County Beautiful and the JCHS Transition Academy “Greenhounds” will be hosting an America Recycles Day event on Nov.
15, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Jones County Recycling Center. The recycling center has been given a “facelift” and wanted to invite the community to see it. They will be there from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to greet the community with a few refreshments and small door prizes.
Syrup Makin’ Day
Jarrell Plantation will host their Syrup Makin’ Day Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Jarrell Plantation Historic Site, 711 Jarrell Plantation Road, Juliette, GA 31046. Experience sugar cane syrup making the old-fashioned way as they cook cane juice in the original kettles and show off the steam powered cane press. Guests can also sip on sugar cane juice and watch volunteers demonstrate a variety of farm skills like spinning, weaving, blacksmithing, butter churning and wood-stove cooking.
There will also be live music and hands on activities and games. Hot syrup will be available to purchase and enjoy at the end of the day.

Spencer-Williams Christmas dinner
The Spencer-Williams family 2022 Christmas dinner will be Saturday, Dec. 17 at Jonesco Clubhouse, 834 GA 22, Gray.
