Wrestlers compete at Georgia Games; Agudelo places first
Greyhound wrestlers kept up the intensity outside of high school competition over the weekend with five competing in the Georgia Games. Will Agudelo, Jackson Brown, Arrie Martin, Jacob Skinner and Hunter McCleskey all took part, with Agudelo placing in the top two in three formats – first in freestyle and second and greco-roman as well as folkstyle. Jackson Brown was second in his folkstyle class with Martin being third.
Volleyball tryouts
The fourth season of Lady Greyhound volleyball returns this fall, and rising ninth graders have an opportunity to be part of it.
Tryouts will be held for rising ninth graders May 8-12 from 3:45-5:30 p.m. in the JCHS Gymnasium. All students must have an updated physical and all other athletic forms in order to tryout.

Cross Country tryouts
Both the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds cross country program are coming off of a sweep of the region championship and a top-ten finish in the state. Now, rising sixth through 12th graders have a chance to be part of the acclaimed program.
A parent meeting will take place May 18 at The Grove, located to the Pre-K Parking Lot near the bus lot.
The meeting for middle school parents is at 5:30 p.m. and high school to follow at 6 p.m. All athletes must have physicals on file. Sign up at jonescountyxc.com.
Semi-pro football tryouts set May 5
The Georgia Ravens, a semi-pro football team with plans to begin play in July, will hold tryouts on Friday, May 5, from 6-7:30 p.m.
The tryout fee is $25 will take place at 166 Recreation Road in Gray. For info or to register, call 478-508-2362.
