Bond debuts for ECU, leads Pirates in receiving
Former Greyhound star Javious Bond had a sizeable part of the offense for East Carolina as it fell 30-3 to second-ranked Michigan at Michigan Stadium. He had four carries for 17 yards and also had four catches for 31 yards, yardage that led to team in receiving in the loss to the Wolverines.

Ross tied for team lead with 15 starts in a row
Teldrick Ross and Middle Tennessee State had the unenviable task of being Alabama’s season opener on Saturday as the Crimson Tide prevailed 56-7. Ross, who is now tied for the team lead with 15 starts in a row, had five tackles for the Blue Raiders. MTSU continues its non-conference slate in the SEC on Saturday at Missouri.
Carner sees first on-field action for Blazers
Valdosta State’s season-opening 63-10 win against Point University saw Andrew Carner rush the ball twice for 14 yards in his on-field debut for the Blazers. VSU plays at Albany State on Saturday.
Robertson, Duke Stun Clemson
Jones County’s Jontavis Robertson played a role in Duke’s historic upset of No. 9 Clemson on Monday night. He had an eight-yard catch for the Blue Devils and was one of seven Duke receivers to catch a pass in the win.
