Thanks in part to six tackles by Teldrick Ross, MTSU won its home opener Saturday against Murray State 35-14. The Blue Raiders host Colorado State on Saturday before next Thursday’s conference opener at Western Kentucky.
Javious Bond continued to be utilized in multiple ways by East Carolina as its daunting non-conference schedule continued in a 43-28 loss at Appalachian State. Bond rushed three times for 30 yards that included a long run of 28 yards. He also ran back a pair of kickoffs for a combined 47 yards. The Pirates host Gardner-Webb on Saturday.
The Duke Blue Devils and Jontavis Robertson are 3-0 after Saturday’s dominant win against Northwestern.
Duke, ranked 21st, travels to Connecticut on Saturday. A win there would match up a pair of possible undefeated teams the next week in Durham against Notre Dame.
