The Volley Hounds season came to an end last week but not before taking another step forward as a program.

Jones County, which will now say farewell to its first group of four-year seniors, battled back in last week’s region tournament in the loser’s bracket, taking down Dutchtown before coming up short to Locust Grove in the Lady Greyhounds second loss of the tournament.

Jones County opened the region tournament against eventual runner-up Eagles Landing. After a 25-20 win in the first set, the Eagles extended the match with a 25-20 win of their own before advancing with a 15-5 win, dropping JCHS to the loser’s bracket, where they fought back for their best region tourney showing in program history.

Jones County will graduate four seniors – Kamryn Hardwick, Pressley Vinson, Nya Warren and Kyle Chastain – with key returners for next year being Lyndsie Hanner and Arleigh Henderson. They’ll be joined by players from a JV team that was highly successful this fall.
