Senior Center Consignment/ Yard Sale

The Jones County Senior Center will be having a pop-up consignment/yard sale Friday, Oct. 20, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 126 Senior Center Way, Gray. Great prices.

Live Roller Derby

The Middle Georgia Derby Demons (MGDD) are excited to bring live roller derby back to Middle Georgia. MGDD is having their annual Glammed VS. Damned Scrimmage after a long-awaited hiatus. The event is being held Oct. 21 at Gray-8-Skate Family Entertainment Center located in Gray. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite and at the door. Children’s tickets are only available at the door.

MGDD will also be holding a raffle for prizes with one third of the proceeds going to purchase sanitary needs for Macon Periods Easier.

Haddock Christian Church Music Jubilee

Haddock Christian Church, 117 Oak St., Haddock, will be having their Music Jubilee Sunday, Oct. 22, at 4:00 p.m. Come join us for a great evening of music, fellowship and food.

Calvary Baptist Church

Calvary Baptist Church, 4364 Upper River Road, is hosting an informational session on foster care with Wayne Naugle from Families 4 Families Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

Gray Station Title 1 Family Night

Gray Station Middle School will be hosting their Title 1 Family Night, Rocktober Fest, Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be Milestones information, performances by chorus and band, food trucks, games, and door prizes.

JCHS Mini Career Fair

Jones County College & Career Academy in conjunction with the Development Authority of Jones County is excited to host the Be Pro, Be Proud Skills Simulator and Mini-Career Fair event at Jones County High School on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 7:55 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Students from select intro-level courses in Welding, Construction, Heavy Equipment Operator, Engineering, Information Technology, and Healthcare will be participating.

Syrup Makin’ Time – 34th Annual Event

Saturday, Nov. 4, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site – Juliette.

Experience sugar cane syrup making the old-fashioned way as we cook cane juice in the original kettles and press sugar cane on the steam powered press. The farm will also come to life with live bluegrass music, spinning, weaving, blacksmithing, and wood stove cooking. There will also be a special Civil War encampment to commemorate the November 1864 arrival of General Sherman’s federal troops. Hot sugar cane syrup will be available to purchase at the end of the day. Admission is $9 for adults, $7.25 for Seniors, $6.50 for Youth 6-17, and $3.50 for children 5 and under. CASA volunteer training

Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will hold a new volunteer training from Oct. 11 through Nov. 8, from 1-4 p.m. at the Putnam County Administration Building, 117 Putnam Drive in Eatonton.
