Veterans Day closing

In observance of Veterans Day, The Jones County News will be closed Friday, Nov. 10. Football contest forms may be placed in the dropbox and will be picked up at 5:00 p.m.

Senior Center fish plate fundraiser

The Jones County Senior Center, 126 Senior Center Way, Gray, will be having a fish plate fundraiser Friday, Nov. 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The plate will include fish, baked beans, coleslaw, hush puppies, dessert, and drink. Plates may be preordered by calling 986-6815, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Plates will also be available for purchase the day of the event.

CASA volunteer training

Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will hold a new volunteer training from Oct. 11 through Nov. 8, from 1-4 p.m. at the Putnam County Administration Building, 117 Putnam Drive in Eatonton.

(CASA volunteers serve as advocates for children in foster care). Please call 478-452-9170 for more information.

Book Sale

Adams Tabernacle Christian Methodist Episcopal Church of Haddock

The Adams Tabernacle Christian Methodist Episcopal Church of Haddock, Georgia is excited to announce that we are preparing to celebrate our 160th Church Anniversary on November 12th @ 2 p.m. Our theme this year is “Working together to Serve God, Our Community and Our Family.

Jones County School System’s Family and Community Engagement Team

The JC FACE Team believes faith-based institutions are part of the fabric of our community.

We recognize the challenges faced by our students, families, and community can be wide and deep. Our hope is to intentionally partner with faith groups who will support our students.

Join the JCSS in building a partnership with your faith based group Thursday Nov. 16 in the JCHS Community Room from 9-10 am.

Very Crafty Christmas

Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. behind the JC Fair Grounds at the Scout Center. 60 vendors with wreaths, jewelry, soaps and so much more. Food trucks featuring giant turkey legs. Free to the public. Get your Christmas shopping done with us!

Operation Shoe Box

Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box National Collection Week is 11/13 – 11/20 Greenwood Baptist Church at 3400 Gray Hwy is the Drop-Off location for Jones County shoe boxes. Pack a shoe box for a needy child and drop them off at Greenwood Baptist Church. Go to www. samaritanspurse.org/operationchristmas- child for ideas of items to pack and Drop-Off hours.

Each shoe box is an opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus around the world.
