GREYHOUND GRAPPLERS
The sights, sounds and emotions of wrestling filled the JCHS gym on Saturday morning and into the afternoon with Jones County hosting its Middle School Takedown Tournament, welcoming 10 teams into the arena of competition.
Jones County finished second, beating out every other team with the exception of Troup. Overall, 10 wrestlers from Jones County placed in the top three. Noah Pieterick won first in his weight class with second place going to Aidan McMahan, Dalanie Williams and Cruz Hasty. Finishing third were Caden Napier, Calab Thompson, Shooter Lumley, Nate McDaniel, Brooks Scott and Harrison Page.
The next middle school match for Jones County is Nov. 15 when it hosts a quad match at Clifton Ridge.
