Kent signs to play softball for GCSU

SCHOLARSHIP

Since she was a freshman, Kimber Kent has been a standout for the Lady Greyhounds as a two-sport star, helping Jones County to a state and region title in softball and a berth in the girls golf state tournament.

She now has what student-athletes on the high school level aspire for – being able to compete on the collegiate level.

Kent, who as a freshman was part of a softball state title for Jones County, made her college path official last Wednesday, signing a national letter of intent to play softball for Georgia College & State University. Kent’s signing on the dotted line will keep her close to home following a softball career in which she anchored the middle infield and was a constant threat to reach base as the Lady Hounds’ leadoff hitter.

Kent’s signing marked a big week for her as she received an invitation to play in the GADC Fast Pitch All State Game on Nov. 18 at Truist Park.
