10U All Stars finish second in state
Jones County’s 10U Football All Stars finished second in the state on Saturday, falling to Glynn County in the GRPA championship game in a contest played in Tifton. Jones County advanced to the state finals with a 44-0 win against Calhoun in the North Regionals that took place in Carrollton preceded by a 27-0 victory in district play against Peach County. That win advanced Jones County’s 10U all stars to regionals for the first time in six years.
Youth Track & Field registration now open
Online registration is now open for the 2024 Jones County Youth Track & Field season, open to boys and girls ages 7-14, with in-person registration on Jan. 6 and Jan. 20 at the W.E Knox Civic Center. Registration is $120 per child and $100 per additional sibling living in the same household. The parent meeting will be Feb. 3 at 11 am.

Drill Team first, second at Central meet
The JCHS drill team claimed a pair of top finishes during Saturday’s meet hosted by Central High School in Macon. Jones County placed first in the platoon unarmed event and second in unarmed squad competition.
