Word of God Speak, National Day of Prayer to be held soon in Gray

COMMUNITY

Word of God Speak will be happening April 27 through May 4 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily in Carol’s Park, and the National Day of Prayer will be held on May 2 at 6:30 p.m. in Carol’s Park, allowing the community to be blessed and help bless.

Debra Hall, the coordinator of the events, said she’s excited for both events to be happening. She said they both bless God and hopes the Jones County community will be involved again this year.

“We will be having our annual read through the Bible, Word of God Speak. It is called Word of God Speak, because we open the Word of God and read what it says,” she said. “We start at Genesis 1:1 and go all the way until Revelation. We will have our National Day of Prayer in May. It’s not just taking place in Georgia, but across the world.”

She said these events are open to the public, and anyone can read the Bible. She said it’s fine if people don’t know how to pronounce words, because she just wants people to give it their best shot.

“God’s Word is the most powerful force in all of creation. It causes hearts to change, bringing healing, deliverance, protection, guidance, knowledge, wisdom, blessings, and the promise of eternal life with Jesus,” Hall said.

The coordinator said people can read in 15-minute increments from the Bible. She said if people would like to read at a certain time on a certain day, they should email kbomin092@gmail.com or call 478-456-1597.

Hall said reading the Bible out loud launches it into people’s spirits, the community and throughout the Earth. She said God’s Word never dies. She said it accomplishes His intended purposes.

She said prayer is the most powerful thing for people to do. She said everyone coming together to pray for the nation is extremely powerful and important, so she hopes to see people at the National Day of Prayer, and not just at Word of God Speak. She added this will be happening all over the U.S.

“People should attend the National Day of Prayer to stand united with like-minded believers demonstrating they are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is an amazing global movement of God,” the coordinator said.

Hall said she hopes to see everyone at both events, because she feels they are both very important for the Jones County community. Anyone from any denomination can join in on the events, and she encourages people to bring a chair and water to drink.

“My favorite thing about these events is the actual events themselves. Getting to see my family and have fellowship with them is wonderful,” she said. “Then I get to meet new families, because anyone who attends these events is family. They make it worth all of the work.”
