Within the walls of what’s known as the JCHS Cheer Factory, the Jones County High School Competition Cheerleaders put in work and practice during the course of a year, working toward aspirations of winning region titles and competing among the state’s best.
A different goal was the focus of the arena this week with the cheerleading program hosting girls ages as young as age 4 for its annual Kiddie Camp.
Working with the Cheer Hounds, campers took part in varied fun activities, ranging from working on cheer stunts, dance and cheer routines in addition to arts and crafts to go with gymnastics-related groupings like tumbling as well as time spent with uneven bars and the balance beam.
Camp participants will have an opportunity to perform as part of pregame activities as a JCHS football game this fall.
