She grew up in Gordon, Georgia, but moved to Macon, Georgia where she was a graduate of Dudley Hughes High School. Carolyn married the love of her life on September 23, 1965. She worked for over 50 years, starting at Palmer Tire Company, and retired from Raffield Tire Company.
Carolyn was a big clog dancer with Southern Pride Cloggers in Jones County for 30 years. She enjoyed her time with her clogging friends and the shows. Carolyn was also an avid gardener and loved working in the yard, but what she cherished most was the time she spent with her family. She never met a stranger and was full of life, love, and laughter.
Carolyn was known for her loyalty, inclusiveness, contagious smile, and amazing energy. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Andrew “Andy” Gay; granddaughter, Bailey Caroline Galeazzo; and sister, Barbara Mathews.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Galeazzo; son, Todd (Christy) Gay; four grandchildren, Cason Galeazzo, Brylie Galeazzo, Tyler (Taylor) Gay, and Courtney Gay (Bryce); and one great-grandson, River Gay.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Lynn Haven Health and Rehab, Affinis Hospice, and her special friends, Tracy Gattie and Gerri Senn.
