Javious Bond had three rushes for 15 yards as East Carolina suffered its first loss of the year, falling 21-19 to Appalachian State. The Pirates play Saturday at Liberty.
John Alan Richter continues to fill the role of backup quarterback for Toledo, which had the MAC’s banner moment of the weekend in a 41-17 drubbing of Mississippi State. The Rockets will next play at Western Kentucky.
