“And as they led Him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.”
(Luke 23:26) Simon carried the cross of Jesus. We need to carry the cross of Christ to all those around us in our community. This Saturday, March 9, at 930am, we will hold the Walk With The Cross event. This is a silent walk following the cross as it is carried ahead of us.
The cross itself will do all the speaking needed as we walk.
We will walk from the gazebo at Carol’s Park down the sidewalk to Ingles. As we follow the cross, we will silently pray for the souls of Jones County. On the sidewalk in front of Ingles, we’ll stop and Pastor Randy Darnell will briefly speak and lead us in prayer.
All are invited to participate, and I especially invite our elected city and county representatives to come and walk with us. I’d also like to invite everyone to the Bible study held every Thursday morning from 930am to 10am at Jarocho’s Mexican Restaurant.
