James, SGTC fall in national quarterfinals
Camryn James and South Georgia Tech tasted defeat for just the second time all year on Saturday, as a 72-61 loss to Northwest Florida State in the NJCAA Tournament Quarterfinals ended the Jets season with a record of 33-2.
SGTC advanced to the quarterfinal following a second-round 54-49 win against Moberly Area in which JCHS alum Camryn James scored nine points and pulled down a pair of rebounds.
In Sunday’s 7-5 for Brevard College over Pfeiffer College, Jacob Thompson got the start, giving up three runs on eight hits in six innings. Brevard, now 10-6 and 6-0 in conference play following Sunday, hosts North Carolina Wesleyan next weekend.
