Jones County’s Destin Howard will have a front-row seat later this week at Georgia goes for a shot at a trip to the Women’s College World Series. The Lady Bulldogs went 4-0 in their region last weekend in Athens, advancing them to face Florida State, seeded third nationally, in the best-of-three Super Regionals. Georgia completed its region with a 12-3 win in six innings over Virginia Tech. The Lady Bulldogs, now 42-13, advance to the Super Regionals for the 12th time in program history.
The winner of that series will advance to the College World Series in Oklahoma City. Georgia opens the slate against FSU at 7 p.m. on Thursday and at 8 p.m. on Friday with both games on ESPN2. The third game, if needed, will be Saturday at a time to be announced.
