Ragins transferring to Mississippi State; other former Hounds in transfer portal
At least one former Greyhound football standout is on the move prior to next season, and a few others could be doing likewise by way of the transfer portal.
Zion Ragins, who has spent the past two seasons at Oklahoma, will find himself at another SEC program this fall. 247Sports,com and On3.com announced on Sunday that Ragins would be transferring to Mississippi State. Ragins reposted the news on his personal X account, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday. Ragins started five games for the Sooners as a true freshman before redshirting this past season. In going to Mississippi State, Ragins will be playing for head coach Jeff Lebby, Oklahoma’s offensive coordinator during the time of his recruitment but left for MSU before Ragins’ freshman season.
Ragins has three years of eligibility left for the Bulldogs, who in the next three seasons have road games including South Carolina, Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Auburn.
Three other former Greyhound stars could also be on the move. Tyler Stewart has entered the transfer portal after two seasons at Temple, where he has been in the mix at receiver and has been the Owls’ primary punt and kickoff returner. Javious Bond, who began his college career at East Carolina before being at Austin Peay this past season, has also previously announced via social media his transfer portal entry. Defensive back Javion Clark, who played for ETSU this past year after starting out at ECU, has also entered the transfer portal.
