Band camp begins path toward marching season
It may not have been anywhere near what will fully take the field during halftime this fall at Greyhound Field, but the first movement and sound of the 2024 Marching Greyhounds began to take place Monday morning.
Making their way from the JCHS band room to the practice grounds inside the school’s track, band camp began in earnest on Monday. Much like Major League Baseball’s staggered reporting to begin spring training, the Marching Greyhounds band camp started on Monday for color guard, rookies and percussion. The opening day was a mix of work, ranging from the visual side of things in the morning with music rehearsal in the afternoon.
The Marching Greyhounds full band camp is also underway with it having begun Wednesday. All of that will build toward July 23, when the Marching Greyhounds perform their Friends & Family Show.
