GYMNASTICS
The Gym Hounds placed second as a team against top-level gymnasts on Friday at Newnan, including Newnan, East Coweta and Cambridge. Autumn Clark was fifth in the vault with Chloe Clark being fifth on the bars and sixth all-around. In the floor routine, Cayl Milner placed fifth.
Multiple Gym Hounds put forth strong finishes in the JV events with a combined eight finishes of fourth or better. Kaylee Wilson was third on the vault and bars with Alexa Johnson being third on the beam and floor.
Fourth-place finishes came from Mary Michael Bunn on the vault, Kinley Babb on the bars, Kiersten Foreman on the beam and Kaylee Wilson in all-around.
The Gym Hounds compete again on Saturday in a meet hosted by North Oconee. Jones County, which during the season has fought through the obstacle of limited practice time, will again face heavy competition on Saturday as North Oconee is ranked first in the most recent GHSA A-5A rankings. The Gym Hounds entered the weekend ranked 18th out of 33 teams. – Brad Harrison
