The Lady Hounds officially sealed their postseason fate last Wednesday, ripping Dutchtown. That wrapped up the past week with a big win over a top-10 foe.

Now, following a weekend in which they went up against foes that tested their mettle prior to region and state tournament play, the final stretch run of the regular season awaits. JCHS began the week with a non-region game against Veterans and closed out the home schedule on Tuesday against Warner Robins. The Lady Hounds, fourth in the region and two games out of second, finish out the regular season Thursday at Union Grove. Jones County will then go to next week’s region tournament where they’ll be seeded anywhere from second to fourth, depending on this week’s results.

Jones County left little doubt last week against Dutchtown, going on the road to win big 20-1. Then came the Ram Classic. Jones County not only faced tough competition but also showed resiliency. Traveling north, Jones County beat Loganville, ranked fifth in AAAAA 12-2 prior to losing 9-0 to AAAAAAA Parkview and 8-0 to Creekview, the No. 2 team in AAAAAA.
