A further measure of the Greyhounds’ success on the football field was shown with last week’s all-region selections.

Jones County concluded its season with a record of 8-4. Two of those losses came to teams that will play for a state championship next week – Coffee and Perry. Offensively, five Greyhounds were first-team selections led by region offensive player of the year Zion Ragins. Other firstteam picks were receivers Tyler Stewart and Jaivon Solomon, quarterback Devin Edmonds and offensive lineman Austin Hanks. Second-team selections were offensive lineman Derrick Cleveland, tight end Noah Barnes, receiver Cohen Barfield and offensive lineman Seth Holder.

On defense, firstteam selections were defensive lineman Jamarion Parker, linebacker Ched Smith and defensive back Javion Butts. Being named to the second team for JCHS on defense were defensive lineman Omarion Tucker, linebackers DJ Ingram and Zacari Thomas and defensive back Tayshaun Lattimore. Defensive lineman Grayson Lundy and defensive back Zach Hurt were honorable mention selections.
