ON TO COLLEGE
For fans eager to see what’s next across the college football landscape, many of their eyes were pointed toward NBC for this past Saturday’s All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
The annual event featured the top high school players from across the country, and the Greyhounds’ Zion Ragins was among them. Ragins was on the roster of the East team in the all-star bowl that lost 31-28. Ragins was one of seven receivers on the East roster, two of whom were from Georgia.
There was more to the week than Saturday alone. Leading into to it, players from both sides took part in workouts against other prospects in the game. Ragins drew plenty of attention in that space, frequently getting behind opposing defensive backs and showcasing his speed and agility, giving fans of his college destination of Oklahoma something to look forward to. Those workouts came with and against the nation’s best. At one point, Ragins worked against KJ Bolden, who Georgia flipped at the last minute on signing day while at another point hauling in passes from Purdue quarterback commit Marcos Davila.
Ragins was part of a segment of players to arrive in San Antonio with their college choice intact with others holding live announcements on Saturday to unveil their college choice.
