A Footgolf tournament was held at Lake Jonesco Golf Club in October. This was hosted by the Jones County Unified Program and included Rutland and Jasper County schools. Jones County Parks and Rec. donated the course and clubhouse and Tri-County came out and cooked hot dogs and hamburgers and Vance Powel from CocaCola donated drinks, for all three schools. The Jones County team won the tournament.
The JC Unified Program also hosted a WhiffleBall tournament this week including Rutland and Jasper County. Special thanks to Coach Mike Paulk for preparing the use of the fields and Tripp Burt for use of the softball field.
We also need to thank Justin Kelly from Dairy Queen who donated the lunches for the Jones County Teams and Vance Powel from Coca Cola who donated the drinks.
Megan Hamilton and ChoRhonda Gwaltney-Harris both served as our umpires for the WhiffleBall. We had 8 teams compete and the Jones County Black Team won the tournament. – Contributed
