Howard helps UGA close out win
Destin Howard helped the Lady Bulldogs maintain momentum during last week’s midweek win against Furman, giving up a run and a hit in an inning to close out a 7-1 win against the Paladins. Georgia, which extended its winning streak to six games following a weekend sweep of Texas A&M, resumes SEC play this weekend in a three-game set against Mississippi State.
Middle school girls blank Henderson in late-season push
Jones County’s girls claimed a 3-0 win last week against Henderson Middle as Marissa Moore netted a pair of goals and Caroline Rickman added one. Both of Jones County’s middle school teams play at Crawford County on Thursday and host Upson Lee on Monday.
