Harris, Sanford named All-State
Senior guards Daethan Harris and Jaylen Sanford were a big reason for the Greyhounds run to the GHSA Class AAAAA semifinals. That play was recently recognized with both being GBAC/GACA All-State Selections.
Sanford averaged 20 points per game with Harris averaging 14, both coming up clutch during Jones County’s three postseason road wins on the way to a historic berth in the state final four. Both also averaged more than 80 percent from the free-throw line.
Thompson, Brevard remain near conference lead
Jacob Thompson took a no-decision on Sunday for Brevard College in an 11-9 loss, being touched up six earned runs on eight hits, walking just one batter. Brevard is now 7-2 in conference play and plays at Methodist College this weekend.
