The Lady Greyhounds are bound for the state tennis tournament once again. Jones County rolled into last week’s region tournament in McDonough needing to finish as one of the region’s top four teams to advance to the state tourney.
They did just that, coming in third. The Lady Hounds traveled to Harris County for this past Tuesday’s opening round. A first-round victory would set JCHS up against the winner of Chamblee and Greenbrier. Jones County would travel to face Chamblee or serve as host if the opponent is Greenbrier.
Jones Countian coaches team into state tennis tourney State tennis tournaments are underway across the state this week, and one team is competing in the postseason thanks to a Jones Countian. Covenant Academy in Macon, led by head coach and Daniel Gale, is bound for the GIAA state tournament. Individual play began at the start of this week with play in team formats set for next week.
