The weekend of March 27-28 will present three opportunities to support the Greyhound football program. Following the County Reunion event and reverse raffle on March 27, the Go Hounds Golf Tournament will be held on March 28 at Lake Jonesco Golf Club.
The County Reunion will take place at 6 p.m. at Butler Hall and feature dinner and a silent auction. Tables are $800 and may be purchased through either Coach Justin Montgomery or Brian Wall. The reverse raffle will be held at 6 p.m. on March 27 with a grand prize of $5,000. Tickets are $100 with a $70 buyback. Tickets are available through any booster club member or JCHS football coach.
The Go Hounds Golf Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. in a two-man scramble format, featuring 27 holes of golf and lunch for a cost of $300 per team. To register, contact Brian Wall at 478-288-1489.
Golfers sweep ACE
Both the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds claimed a match victory against ACE on Monday at River North Country Club. The Greyhounds, who won with a round of 159 to ACE’s 165, were led by Cash Bearden’s 37, rounds of 40 by Cooper Perry and Ethan Lewis, and 42 from Hayes Miller. Top scores for the Lady Hounds Lady Hounds, who had an overall score of 89 to ACE’s 100, were Sarah Davis with a 41 and Kendyl Thomas’ round of 48.
Soccer alumni game March 21
Jones County High School’s soccer programs will host their third-annual alumni match on March 21 at 10 a.m. at Greyhound Field. Teams will be split based on the number of participants. Gym Hounds off to strong start
The Gym Hounds have earned a strong start out of the game to begin the season. On Saturday at Carrollton, Jones County’s varsity squad placed first among teams from their region with the middle schoolers taking second in their first meet of the season.
Saturday was the second meet of the year for the varsity Gym Hounds, who began the season earlier in the week against nine other teams at Ola. The next scheduled varsity meet is March 11 at Ola with both teams slated to compete April 4 at Washington County.
