Clifton Ridge Football hosting golf tournament fundraiser

Hitting the golf course can help support the future of Greyhound football on July 95 for the Clifton Ridge Golf Tournament, which will support the CRMS football program.

Held at River North Country Club, the tournament will begin registration for the day at 11 a.m. with a noon shotgun start.

Registration is $125 per person with sponsorship opportunities including hole or player sponsorships as well as other incentives being available at higher levels.

Wrestling, tennis funds raised at pickleball tournament Friday

Playing pickleball can help the Jones County High School tennis and wrestling teams in a big way on Friday night with the staging of a pickleball tournament to benefit both teams.

Held at the Vallant Bank Recreation Complex on Highway 18, the tournament will run from approximately 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. All ages and abilities are welcome in the format that will use a rally scoring system and two-partner teams.

Each tournament entry will include one raffle ticket entry into a $500 drawing with other entries available based on results in the tournament. The raffle winner must be present to claim the prize.

Youth football signups underway

Signups are underway through Aug. 7 for the fall season of youth football in Jones County. This year will once again include football, cheerleading, and girls’ flag football. Tryouts are scheduled for Aug. 8.

Girls flag football is open to ages 4-14 and has a registration fee of $115 per person with cheerleading $130 and open to ages 5-14. Football registration is $145 per participant with age groups of 5-6 for rookie, 7-8 for bantam, 9-10 for mite, and 11-12 for junior.
