Fryer named secondteam All-American
Another postseason honor has come the way of former Jones County standout De’Queze Fryer. A senior tight end this past season for LaGrange College, he was named to the AFCA Division III All-America Second Team last week.
He has also been named to the D3Football.com All-Region Second Team as well as the second team all-conference team in the USA South Athletic Conference.
Fryer scored eight touchdowns this past season for the Panthers, catching 35 passes for 433 yards.
Cheer Hounds’ Holt named region coach of year
Already having had multiple individuals recognized as all-region selections, Jones County’s Competition Cheerleading squad received another honor last week with head coach Lelin Holt being named region coach of the year.
The Cheer Hounds finished ninth in the state and will return four all-region selections for next year’s team, as well.
